Chicago black and white photography is what I’ve been doing for 20 years. I’ve long thought that I was blessed to have grown up in the city instead of the suburbs, because in the burbs, I’m sure I would have been bored out of my mind and gotten into trouble. As it was, I grew up on the west side of the city in Humboldt Park, so boredom was never an issue!

Portrait studios in Chicago offer many approaches and styles. If you’re looking for a portrait studio in Chicago that offers you great flexibility in terms of implementing your ideas for location, poses, etc., send an email to frank@portraits-chicago.com with your ideas and we’ll make a plan for your desired portraits.

I call this a Chicago portrait because it reminds me of something my grandma said when I was a kid - “If you can’t find a job in Chicago, you can’t find a job anywhere.” Grandma was absolutely right. In fact, she was more than right when you consider that I can’t even call the work I do a job because it’s too much fun, as exemplified by this portrait session.

Chicago portrait photographers like myself have one of the greatest jobs in the world - if you can call it a job. I get the opportunity to bring the best out in a person. It’s no wonder everyone wants to be a photographer!

Chicago children photography is one of the most challenging subjects I’ve tackled in photography, which also makes it one of the most satisfying, because when you can make a meaningful and flattering image out of a blur of kinetic motion, you’ve made something of lasting value.
